No you are not odd for not liking to use the public bathrooms. I suspect there are many people that share your exact same feelings. Some public bathrooms are down right disgusting!!! The toilets are not flushed and there are no toilet paper in the dispensers and not enough soap and so on...
Do yourself a favor, take along some antiseptic wipes to put in your purse or wallet or pocket or something and wipe the areas you know you will use first before touching it. The anti-septic stuff will destroy most if not all germs on the areas you know you will touch that will ease your mind of germs and such.
You are not the only person on this planet that shares your same fears. Don't worry about what others think of you. Be glad who you are and be happy with what you are doing. If they have a problem with it, then they are the ones with a problem.
Good luck to you and I hope I was some what helpful!

the bathroom thing is fine and normal. Everyone feels that way a little. start carrying some antibacterial spray and or wipes in your purse. find a good container to keep them in, something small and refillable so nobody will notice. use the wipes or a napkin or towel to touch everything inside the bathroom, wipe the seat with your wipes and maybe even hover if still scared. use a towel or wipe to open the door when leaving and shoot it in the trash can for 2 points.
Really work on the eating thing. You will miss out on a lot of great restaurants if you don't. Work on ettiquette and have confidence that your not too messy. if you get something in your teeth it's ok just go to the bathroom and don't touch anything but the food in your teeth!! :)

No I hate using the public restrooms. During the day, I only drink water when it is close to time for me to go home. When I get home I drink plenty of water but try to avoid beverages if I am going to be out for a while. The only problem is that I get several times during the night to use the bathroom. I would rather break my sleep than use a public toilet.

Nothing wrong with that. Public bathrooms are disgusting, and I hate using them too. As for eating in front of other people, it's weird. I don't like it because there is no way to look attractive while shoving food into your mouth, no matter how many manners you use, or how slowly you eat.

No. That's just being hygiene-conscious. I'm like you too. I hate to use public bathrooms and try to avoid them at all costs. I hate using the subway and the transit system too. And I feel more comfortable eating food at home than at a restaurant.

Most women really don't like public restrooms.
I'd suggest carrying a little pack of baby wipes that you can wipe down the seat with. Look for restaurant restrooms rather than gas station ones. The restaurant ones, especially full service restaurants, are much cleaner.

No, you are not odd. I even take an extra paper towell when I leave a public restroom so I won't have to use a doorknob with my bare hands. How many people have you seen in a public restroom that didn't wash their hands. Also, I work in a restaurant and I dislike eating in them also.

i hear that, no u are not odd. the general public is completely disgusting for the most part. eating out is pretty gross, consdering what goes on in the kitchen and the way people smell grosses me out. I always hold my nose when they walk by. restrooms are awful, but i don't like to hold it and get bladder infections so i deal with that.

My husband stares at me smiling whenever we watch Monk.
My thigh muscles must be so overdeveloped from all the toilet-hovering I have done in my life. And I wipe the seat before and after.
I kick the doors open, too. And if no one's watching, I use paper towels to touch the faucets, etc. Then I sanitize my hands.
I am rarely sick.
