Yes. But only if you had the runs for months on end, causing you to waste away like Kate Moss. Nutrient deficiency does stunt growth, but only in extreme cases, such as having diarrhea for a long long long time.

diarrhea could be an effect of growth hormonal change..and could cause dehydration if not monitored.but would not directly effect a spurt.

It depends how much you are having. If it goes on for several days then you may not be absorbing the nutrients you need to grow and to complete a lot of other important metabolic functions. If this has gone on for a while you should see your doctor.
