and is there a way i can run a switch instead of pushing the clutch to turn it on

You dint need a switch only bypass the clutch switch, is located in the top of you clutch pedal, ah or maybe you want a fancy switch, yes is same only wire the clutch pedal switch and ready you are in business, the old cars don't have that switch, but I think the elders was a little more intelligent people then today's people.

I've done this on most my cars, it saves wear on the engine's thrust bearing while starting.
Find the clutch switch, and use a scotch lock to clip the wires together. Or, you could pull the switch off, and mount it under the dash so you have to press it while turning the key as an anti-theft device.

What you want to do is splice into the wiring on the clutch safety switch and wire that to a switch on the dash.

This is actually a very bad idea, because it will allow you to engage the starter while the car is in gear. If you do so, the car can jump forward or back (depending on the gear), and cause damage or injury!

Yes you can but wouldn't recommend it. Just trace the wires at the clutch pedal under the dash.
