my hair is the same, I used to have red hair but then it went brown as i got older but my beard has a reddish tinge to it. If you are young the first lot of facial hair is always light. It should get darker as you get older.

the hair, when produced, is all the same colour but because you take care of the hair on your face differently to that on your hair (different products, etc.), it changes slightly and over time, the change become more apparent. the hair is the same but different chemicals have changed the shades to make them seem different.
