I like to watch it agitate. :)

Well, I can see where the metal prong comes out from under the door and goes up into a slot. Still, I can't seem to find the location point where it triggers the agitation.

Don't do it. Please. Many home accidents have happened when people tried to run their washers or dryers with the doors open. People have been permanently injured and even killed. I don't want that happening to you. They stop running when the door is open for a good reason!

Most washers agitate with the door open, they just won't spin.

There should be a little tab on the door. That tab goes into a hole and closes a switch. Just pust something into the hole. Don't leave it in or use anything that could fall in and get stuck. If that happened and you closed the door you could damage something.

i leave the lid open and you need to find the little button to push to get it to agitate. theres a prong on the door and when its closed, it puses the button and this lets the washer know that the lid is closed and it can agitate. but i just stick a pen or pencil in mine and it doesnt know the diffrence.

You could hold down the little tab on the right side where the notch on the lid normally pushes in when you shut the lid.

It doesnt harm yet i like to close it exceptionally if there are toddlers around (dont choose them falling in!). yet my device does not circulate into the spin cycle if the lid became up besides.

Cut a hole in the top and glue a piece of lexan over the opening...

Or buy a web cam and have at it...

Mine, and most others I've seen, will not do it, because it can be a safety risk (I don't know, maybe you have really bad balance and might accidentally fall in?!?).
