A hump day is on a Wednesday as it is half way through the week so you are over the hump and heading for the weekend.
Nothing to do with having sex.

Maybe if you considered 'hump' not to imply sex maybe you could think that Wendesday, the day in the middle of the workweek, is considered a hump, and if you make it over this hump you'll make it to the end of the long dreadful week.....I don't know but that's the way I always took it

imagine the work week as a hill wed would be the hump once you get over the hump its downhill to the weekend
