Baby's dream in colors and shapes, mostly. They may recall certain words or sounds in dreams, but would have no real understanding of the meaning, as they have no point of reference for language yet. As they mature, and they begin to associate words to objects or people (Mommy, Daddy, Bottle, etc.) than these words will begin to appear in the dreams, and the associated images will likely appear as well. Possibly these would not be recognizable to anyone but the child, as they will see these things slightly differently than we would.

How do you know that babies speak in dreams? Perhaps they communicate telepathically or with pictures. It is a dream. Since the baby has so few experiences the dreams are likely just a replay of memories and variations of such. My dog dreams all the time, but I doubt my dog speaks to anyone in those dreams. I believe that she like recalls experiences or wishes she were running free in a field or something.

Everything is new to a baby. They dream about events that happened durng their day and not really about what was being said to them.....they revisit everything they saw and enjoyed that was new to them. That's why you can catch your baby smiling sometimes in their sleep....they are remembering something they were amused by.

LOL. I once watched my son sleep when he was a newborn.. his eyes fluttering and him making sqeaky noises. I wondered what he was dreaming about and thought it might be a giant bottle chasing him, or my face, or just his experience in the womb.
