he Parable of the Barren Fig Tree

6 And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8 And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. 9 Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”

Without more information, I cannot tell you. The parable seems to be about salvation, and the fact that God will not wait forever for someone to make a decision.

Well it depends on what you are trying to do. It seems that this parable may relate to you in different ways more than one.

This parable talks about Trees without fruit, as we all know christians must have fruits of their faith.

Whatever it is that you are challenged with, make sure that this will be a benefit in all aspects of your life, if its about a

JOB: will this job keep you away from God and not let you give fruits of your faith, let you work with the lord the way he wants you to?

Love Interest: This could also mean that that person that you are interested in may not be faithful, or maybe your faith will deminish if you are in a new love relationship by dedicating more time to this person and not the lord, maybe your heart can trick you.

There are many reasons like I said, You should also pray seeking the reason why this parable was revealed to you in answers to your prayers.

God Bless
&
Good Luck

Luke 13:6-9 He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none. He said to the vine dresser, 'Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?' He answered, 'Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it. If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.'"

Lu 13:6
Had a fig tree. A common fruit in Palestine. It represents here the Jewish nation.
Found none. The nation did not glorify God by fruitfulness in righteousness. (People's New Testament Commentary)

Lu 13:7
Three years. The period of Christ's ministry among the Jews.
Cut it down. As worthless. (People's New Testament Commentary)

Lu 13:8
Let it alone this year also. The last year of opportunity was then being given. After that year and the final rejection of Christ the doom of the nation was sealed. (People's New Testament Commentary)

Lu 13:9
If those who enjoy the means of grace neglect them, and bring forth no fruits of holiness, God, in due time, will remove all such blessings from them, and leave them to endless barrenness and death. (Family Bible Notes)

Lu 13:9
v6-9 This parable of the barren fig-tree is intended to enforce the warning given just before: the barren tree, except it brings forth fruit, will be cut down. This parable in the first place refers to the nation and people of the Jews. Yet it is, without doubt, for awakening all that enjoy the means of grace, and the privileges of the visible church. When God has borne long, we may hope that he will bear with us yet a little longer, but we cannot expect that he will bear always. (Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary)

The verse is telling you not to give up on something until you have made an accurate and true effort to conclude it successfully. It is all the help you need to answer your hidden question. Think about it, it's telling you that you have no solution (no fruit) because you still haven't fertilized the ground (this means you still don't fully understand the problem, or that you still haven't found the right attitude to confront it) around it.

I would like to add that many choices in life are made on blind faith, including the act of believing in the God's Word (The Bible).
Choice is not equal to knowledge, sometimes we just have to choose things we don't completely understand. Sometimes we have to set an ultimate date or time to make a decision, and make the best one we can with the knowledge we have at that time.

God Bless you and may you have the courage to choose correctly.

The account is found at Luke 13:6-9. A few verses earlier, Jesus had been talking about the need for repentance. Recall that he had been sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. Now he gives this illustration. When Jesus gave this illustration, he had been preaching for three years, trying to cultivate faith among members of the Jewish nation. Jesus intensified his preaching, “fertilizing” the tree. The results were obvious by the time of his death.

Does this seem to have a connection to the decision you must make? And why do you think it relates at all?

There are some questions I often ask formerly getting extreme with a boyfriend... -Is he in love with the Lord -are you able to talk approximately God -Does appreciate you and your physique -Do you have an identical ideals with regard to the bible -might desire to you tell your mom with regard to the conversations you have without being embarrassed if so... this is well worth a shot! in case you do not understand the solutions to the questions, that's what dating is for! One verse that i individually like is "i understand the plans I even have for you,' proclaims the Lord. 'Plans that may be useful you, to not harm you, yet to furnish you wish and a destiny." merely understand that God is extensive-unfold with what he's doing... each little thing is going TO BE merely high quality:)

Well if you plant a seed in dry soil will it grow no it need watering before it will grow just as when we plant the seed of the word it needs watering to grow or the devil will still the word before it has a chance also you must make sure this is good soil so putting the manure in the soil is taking bad soil and making it good. by showing people non believers the Love of God and share the word with them this is sewing the seed. They will see the love shine through your face and in your eyes. Bye planting the seed of the word in non believers is also taking bad soil and making it good even tho must non believers would think that the word was manure you know bull shi

Dont waste your time and energy after you have put forth your best effort and receive no results or desired fruit. Move on and allow for something new to enter your life. Or seek for ground that is fertile where a seed will grow. But this requires your own personal revelation, I am just trying to help.

I think this parable means if a person isn't being fruitful, don't cut them down just yet. Give them a chance (fertilize them) and see what happens. If they still aren't worth your time, lose 'em. Does that have anything at all with your decision? If not, sorry! I don't know what else to tell you.

What answer are you seeking from the Lord?
The verse may have nothing to do with your situation.
All Jesus was saying was that Christians should produce.
(Do not read REproduce).
Christians are suppose to make other Christians.
Matthew 28:19.
If some were to sit on their Christian behinds and make no contribution ....cut them down, throw them out.
If, however, with a bit of encouragement (manure) they can become active again in making other Christians .....hey!
