that's easy, I can think of two occasions where a nuclear bomb has killed people, as opposed to hundreds of occasions where religion was the cause of death and destruction.

I'm not an atheist but I know the biblical god is a myth -- and not a very bright one.
Religion can be a very destructive force, but on the positive side religion may be the only thing that acts as a restraint for some people who might otherwise be inclined to commit immoral acts such as murder, rape, child molestation, robbery, assault and so on.
I have a theory that many of the most enthusiastically 'religious' people depend on the threat of God's wrath - and his approval when they do good - to keep themselves in line. They need the fear, the discipline and the cultist arena of organized religion to function in society as a moral person.
I really think many (not all) diehard believers are where they need to be at this point in their spiritual evolution.

I would have to say religion.
A nuclear bomb destroys human beings, so they don't have a choice in living engaged in each other and productive members of society, in an ongoing effort towards progress.
Religion is a blockade - humans are alive, and the capacity is there, but it blocks human capacity for deep connection and bonding, on a human level, as opposed to a legalistic level (ie, religion). Human capacity is wasted with religion - it blocks progress.
I'm not so sure "life" is the be all and see all. It's what you do with that life that counts. Being static and stuck in an age-old religion eliminates the enhancement of human productivity towards a better mankind.

I think religion would be the worst of the two, since eventually, an area and people can overcome a nuclear bomb, however, I think religion has caused more trouble than it's worth, causing people to hate one another simply because they "aren't like them". I think it will be a long time, if ever, that this country will recover from that certain kind of malicious difference hating Christianity.

I would say religion is very rarely the root cause of violence. It's usually a guise. The root cause is typically greed or some other base motive.
Do you really believe that if there were no religion then people would stop killing each other? Let's be real. Take a look a North Korea's recent actions. That country is atheist, yet they are still belligerent.

I would have to say a nuclear bomb. The radiation destroys the land and any future hope for humanity. There are many false religions, but don't be deceived. Jesus Christ is the only one that offers hope and peace. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Also, not everyone that claims to be a Christian is a Christian. Contrary to popular belief, you are not born a Christian. You have to choose to accept or reject Christ.

Religion by a long shot. A nuclear weapon goes "boom" once, kills lots of people, and that's it for that bomb. Only with religion can you get groups of people murdering each other for millenia on the basis of defending something that may or may not exist. It's a very, very simple and mindless justification for people to hate and outcast each other. Crusades, the Inquisition, the Burning Times/Witch Hunts, Al-Qaeda, ect.
Plus, people following their religion can get tons of nukes.

Definitely religion. I'm a Christian.
False religion destroys good.
True religion destroys bad.
In both or either case, the destruction is much more than that of a nuclear bomb.

It is almost a valid question- fact is though, while a nuclear weapon may cause more physical harm in one felled swoop, most of the fighting and war on this planet is caused by religious turmoils and disagreements, land and beliefs.
See just seeing the word Atheists made me have an implosion in my head, similar to the nuclear weapon- I never could understand how anyone cannot believe something powerful made all this and you. wow!

human beings might kill one yet another whether there grew to become into faith or no longer. actual everyone seems to be grasping and could do something to get forward. faith gets blamed for wars yet you may desire to understand that maximum actual everyone seems to be religious. seem back 4 hundred years in the past and atheism grew to become into virtually non-existent. The information in my good judgment is that atheists are actually not exempt from springing up wars and dividing humanity. seem at communism. thousands and thousands died decrease than Stalin's reign and in next years for the time of distinctive atheistic, communist regimes. Blaming a faith is an excuse to no longer dig deeper and discover the genuine motives of destruction.

Religion causes death, suffering and hate every day and has for thousands of years. Nuclear bombs killed their share of people. It was tragic, yes, but it only happened twice.
My vote if for religion as the most destructive force in society today.
