A lot of times people do drugs because of lack of a purpose/goal in their life. Many start doing drugs because of the kind of environment they have been surrounded by & at times it's just trying to fit in. Others... do things to feel satisfied just for today without even worrying or thinking about their future which will have an affect on their family/friends once they get addicted; consequently, I believe that people who do that are selfish & are very needy people emotionally. Overall, it's not knowing or realizing how unique & gifted they are to live life to the fullest with who they are, not the picture that the use of drugs paints of what life is to be like.

there are many reasons people turn to drugs. they can do so because of peer pressure. another reason is as a release from problems in their life. everyone handles pressure in different ways... some simply cope while others need a way of handling tough situations and drugs are often one such way. another is to act cool. some people believe doing drugs makes them look tough and thus do so. others simply do it once to 'give it a try', think it does nothing, 'try' it again a few times and then get addicted without realising it.
