And why aren't people asking questions that will diminish those stereotypes?

I realize this is a rhetorical question. I just think some of the 'adults' in this forum are behaving like fools.

Because most people do not have neither the time nor the will to research other beliefs. In most religions, that is a learned trait from parents and religious teachers, not a personal flaw. People just need to do a little research and also consider peoples feelings before asking some of the derogatory questions seen here lately. "Love thy neighbor" hasn't been practiced here for some time.

I believe that people are using Yahoo Answers as a forum to preach, proselytize, and minister, not to ask legitimate questions. It's silly, really, because matters of faith cannot be proven--after all, that's why they're matters of faith.

The only legit questions in this category might be asking what people of another religion believe.
"I don't know much about Hinduism. Could someone who is a Hindu please explain to me about the importance of the God Krishna in Hindu theology?"
One typically doesn't see religious questions like the above being posed.
And answers to such a question would probably come from Christians of the "fundie" stripe, who would all pipe up about how Hinduism is sinful and that no one should bother to study it or its Gods and Goddesses.
And then a bunch of kids would write, "I don't know. Thanks for the two points! LOL!"

I'm not quite so sure what you're talking about... I've seen some demeaning questions to Pagans recently, but, that's it.

:D I'm glad I'm able to say I'm not an adult. I'm 16, so I can't be acting like a fool, then!
