I wouldn't say I was addicted to pop, but I do drink it a lot. Sometimes it's not the caffeine that your body wants when you come off pop, it's the sugar.
When I stopped drinking pop, I went cold turkey. whenever I felt like have a glass of pop I had a glass of water. Lets just say I was getting my 8 glasses a day, because I wanted the sugar not the caffeine.
If you have one glass of pop a day, you're taking in a lot of sugar. I was getting headaches because of the caffeine and sugar withdrawal. You just need to replace pop with something that's better for you, like water. But you're probably going to have to deal with the headaches if you get them.
When you're off of it, you'll not only feel better, but lose some weight too!
Did you know that carbonated drinks eat at the lining in your stomach? It's gross. And sports drinks destroy the enamel on your teeth.

I was once addicted to Dr. Pepper. I would wake up in the morning and the first thing I would do was go to my closet and drink warm Dr Pepper from the case of 32 oz bottles I kept there.
I decided it was not good for me and switched to non-caffienated sodas, and then switched to water.
Initailly, I had some head-aches I blamed on withdrawl, but they went away quickly.

Yes, I can only go about three days with out having one. My Mom is addicted to Pepsi she used to try and quit and have with drawl symptoms just like an alcoholic. It was bad. I just get migraines from lack of caffeine.
I would say the only way to quit would be the same as any other addiction 12 steps.

I like soda but I never drink it "straight". I always drink it in diet form and caffein free. I can't stand the "straight". I have been hearing that the corn syrup in pop might be addictive. Anyone else know about that. I like diet sierra mist from Pepsi. It is good mixed with juices like orange or cranberry juice which is really good for you.

unfortunately I am addicted to Coca Cola. I always am telling my children the hazards of drinking too much soda, but when they are not looking I get my secret stash hidden under my bed and I guzzle it. I am such an hypocrite. What I do is that i try to drink only one can a day. No, I don't share it with anybody.

I am addicted to Diet Pepsi. I think the chemicals in diet cola are addictive, caffiene too. I think you have to slow down before you stop. Cold turkey is too tough.

I would treat this as a mental weakness... I used to drink like 5 cokes a day. One given day I just said enough.... When I got the cravings, I visualized my self like in the future with a better body, white tooth, etc

Once I went to a theme park with my friend and it was really, really hot. We all ordered Sprites. It was ice cold and tasted delicious. I drank it all the time. Then I discoverd Peach Iced Tea! I only drink pop about once a day if I have any, sometimes i won't for almost a week.
