I am the Vice President of our Homeowner's Association. The president has resigned. Our By-Laws state that each year the Vice President automatically becomes President. We have 3 months until new election for the 2006/2007 year. I will have to assume the role of President now that the President has resigned. Is there precedence to whether I will automatically continue as President in the 2006/2007 year? This is a new situation for our Homeowner's Association. The reason we structured the By-Laws this way is so the incoming President will be familiar with the board and the current business of the board.

Unless someone else stands for the position, you would be acclaimed, as I have been acclaimed for the past two years as President of the employee group (800 members) I belong to.
