i am not sure if it was 11 or 9.
Muhammad was exception. Muhammad cannot divorce any of his wives. and He has a mission that he has to accomplish. and many of his wife are really old women. and not everything is about sex.

He would only marry women for war reasons, he only loved one of his wives, Khadija (s). When he married another wife, it was because his husband died in war and the Arabs of that time were so bad that they would bother a widow women, sexually I mean. They would respect every woman who was married. The prophet would marry only to have a mother for the family and so that the lady would not be bothered. Also, he could have had 4 wives at a time, not 11 altogether.

My friend,
The prophet never had more then 1 wife at any given time.
Back in those days lifespans were shorter then they currently are.
He re married after each wife passed away for various reasons such as:
1) to spread religion
2) to protect them from evil
3) to protet them from poverty
The knowledge you have about 4 wives is incorrect. In Islam once you are married only and only if your wife absolutely agrees you can marry again. But even the prophet never had multiple wifes at any given. He kept on re marrying because they passed away. May they all rest in peace.
I hope I have enlightened you on some misconceptions you previously had.

Did you read any hadith about Mohamad's wives. He was hypersexual person. He married 9 years old girl. If he looks to a woman of any friend he gets her. The tales of Muhammad’s wives and sex slaves are the most fascinating and also the most embarrassing part of the life of the Prophet. These are stories of lust, intrigues, mind games, jealousy and betrayal.

Most of the marriages he did were to support widows whose husband died in the way of Islam and most of them were older then him (PBUH). Instead of trying to see how many wives Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) had did you ever though of ever picking up the Holy Quran and read it. I know the answer but friendly advice go ahead and read it. My friend by the way I could have answered your question the same way "theogodwyn" answered that is
How many wives did Abraham have?
How many wives did Solomon have?
How many wives did Moses have?
How many wives did David have?
How many wives did Israel (Jacob) have?

Perhaps it is good if the wealthy successful men have many wives. In todays society it is the pimps, the drug dealers, and the criminals who have multiple wives. Does that improve our society. Perhaps the muslims are better off. It is the wealthy successful mean who have multiple wives and take care of them very well.
I heard one woman in Saudi Arabia saying that American women are fools. They fight for their rights and they end up with less.

most of the ansewres above indicate ignorance of the life of the prophet. in the begining he had only one wife "Khadija" and continued to be so till she died. he married the other wifes later on most of them were elderly women ,for social reasons.the young girl "aisha" was an adult women when she got married ,as girls get to adult age at younger age in hot climates.you can visit africa and see adult women at her age.
the other point is that marriage of the muslem of mor than one is in certain known conditions and is a totally responsible behavior.not like the non-responsible non-faith relationships in the west today where a man is not sure of his real father!

Prophet Mohammad is the main wretched creature who walked in this earth....he used terror to unfold his egocentric procedures..and no ask your self he chosen to have 11 better halves whilst unfavourable muslims get to have purely 4....i'm shocked that muslims nonetheless dont get it!!
