If you live near a dental school you can probably get some good deals. If not you will have to do what I did, use plastic.

Yes. Most dental schools have programs for low and no income patients. Call the school and ask for the dental clinic. I'm sure a friendly person will help you. If there is no dental school in your area, try the county dental association. They may have a program.

If you need a lot of dental work done, it worth to travel to Thailand as there has so many dentists that graduated and well-trained from Europe and US. Many of them are The American Board in their related field. The hospitals and clinics are high standard as they were accredited by ISO 9001. The price for treatments are at 1/3 - 1/4 the price back to Western Countries. You may find the reference from the website as seen in CBS TV'60 minutes and in Time Magazine. For example, Denture is from USD 200 - 500 depends on how many teeth. Implants are from USD 2,000 - USD 2,500, Crown,Bridge are from USD 250 - 450 and etc. These treatments are done by the specilise dentists not by the student. The airfares is approx. USD 1,000 (from the travel agent I've known in US), hotel rate is cheap from USD 15 up / 3 stars is approx USD 30 and more for 4 / 5 stars. You may find the medical agency in Thailand that will not charge you for service fee and they can recommend you the hospitals and specialise dentists. You may visit at www.healthylivingvacation.com

I had to get my wisdom teeth removed and went thru a program called Care Credit, it's a credit card but it can only be used at participating doctor's offices or dental offices...not the mall. It's free, it costs nothing, you get qualified immediately, and there's no interest if you pay it off within a year. Piece of cake.

Try to find a health clinic for people who don't have insurance. Or perhaps Salvation Army can refer you to help. Your County Health Dept. may also help you if you are in the low income bracket. Good luck.
