Excellent question! Before the slave trade there were no hurricanes. It was only after the trade has begun that hurricanes appeared and followed the route of the slavers.

The answer therefore is simple. The hurricanes are there to wipe any trace of the water route off the map so that slavery will never more be a problem.

You seem to be implying that hurricanes follow the slave trade because of some divine judgement, why else post this question in the Religion section?

The reason that hurricanes follow a pattern has to do with water and air temperatures, water and air currents, and geographical landmasses. There is a perfectly logical explanation for why they follow a pattern.

If you want to see if there is an association, they why don't you ask why slave companies didn't have their offices struck by lightning everyday when they were operating? Why weren't the slaveships blown ashore in Africa by the hurricanes before they reached America? Why weren't the slaveships sunk on their way back to Africa when they weren't carrying slaves?!?

It has nothing to do with the slave trade and everything to do with the prevailing wind currents. The hot air from Africa blows out over the moisture of the Atlantic. Sometimes it fizzles out and sometimes it gains strength. The Atlantic must be warm to do this which is why hurricane season is from June to October. The slave ships of the olden times were sailing ships and the prevailing winds from Africa pushed them across the Atlantic. There you go, the only correlation between the two is the wind.

Everyone who can move from west Africa wants to get to North America. The fact is that Cyclones / hurricanes on the northern hemisphere are created on oceans of warm water and move north west, due to Earth rotation and the world cycle of winds from equatorial to temperate zones. this occurs in the Atlantic and pacific oceans.

Temperature and Wind cause the movement.

I still ponder the fact that it was blacks selling blacks.

Whoever did what it is now in the distant past.

I can not believe that THE GOD would make a path of destruction as a memorial of that sad tale.

Just coincidence.

I think it has more to do with scientific weather patterns than anything else, BUT you make an absolutely fascinating theological inquiry here.. perhaps a higher power is attempting to remind us of something.
