I've searched online and most of the websites are outdated or not working. I've called a few and heard their messages they had messages like"members prayer meeting" 7-9 but im not a member so i did'nt feel comfortable just showing up. I live in Arlington Texas and am strongly feeling the need to get myself involved in a church gathering but i do not like all the cameras in my face that really distract me from worshipping God to the fullest. Thanks any sugestions on how to go about finding a good church would be really helpful. I went to the assemblies of God as a child and would like something close to that.

When I moved I had the same problem. So what I did, I asked God for guidance, opened the phone book of my area, listed all the local Christian churches and then prayed. Sometimes you have to attend a few to know in your heart if this is the one God wants you wants you there. It doesn't go with your feelings but with the obediance to God's will in your heart. For God there is no denomination of chruches as long as it is a 100% bible based church. But He may be calling you to a place where you will be able to be used by Him and help the growth of that church.

I have been called that way, to churches I never wanted to go to but knew from prayer and answer that God wanted me there. In the end it was a blessing.

The qualifier for me was were they teaching the Word. Once that was settled the next thing was how I was received by the congregation. Were they warm and inviting or cold and stand off-ish.
A lot can be said for a church body by that first handshake of the usher or deacon. In our church, we make sure newcomers are greeted warmly, introduced to the pastor, and generally made to feel at home. And yes, pray for Gods guidance in your decision making.

Well first you have to figure out what you believe then you can find a church that makes you feel spiritualy comfortable. If you feel in your heart comfortable and in your mind fulfilled then you have found the church for you. Just try different ones and follow your heart. Jesus will lead you where you need to be.

Stop by and check them out...I think that's the only way to see if it's good for you. I would find it hard to believe that someone wouldn't want you at their prayer meeting.

Maybe you could stop in and talk to someone who works at the church, or call and ask them about their church, or maybe even e-mail them.

It is not wrong to attend a different church each sunday to find the one that best suits you. It is important that you be as comfortable as possible at church, and to do that you just need to do a little "church hopping." Best of luck.

Talk to some friends and see if you can visit their churches sometime. That might help you get an idea of what you like and don't like in a worship setting.

Try checking out the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Just go to one of the meetings or if your not very social, then you can always have a missionary come and talk to you about it, if you need any help just email me about it. Also pray and turn to the Bible, they both can help.
