SOrry guys, just the die hard jesus people on this one. If you go to a church that is named for a saint, just skip this one for now.

I liked it, as a god loving agnostic I love dissenting views of religion of any type. In my humble opinion religion has caused more death and destruction than any other disagreement on the planet. Religion is a control mechanism that has been in use for the powerful to control the weak. I am a very spiritual person and don't believe that any man be it Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, or any other should be more than a teacher. Religion is what separates humans from each other because in the end someone has to be wrong and someone has to go to hell for not believing. I do believe church can be good if the church is not interested in proselytizing but just teaching the difference between what is right and what is wrong.

I think that unfortunately one of the worst type of pains to get over is church-hurt. This is when people go to a place or a person where they should be safe, only to find hypocrasy and nominal Christianity. I love them and I repent because "the church" has really dropped the ball in North America. It would be a lie to say that God is pleased with the overall church here. We've compromised God's Word to fit in and made sin o.k. Or we've, forgotten, 'what manner of spirit we are of (Luke 9:55)', and gone bible-thumping when we should have been loving on people. But yes, satan's hand is all over it. It is him who took those bad experiences and turned them into bitterness against God when it was humans who made the mistakes. Thank you for bringing that sight to my attention. I will intercede for people in that position more often.

Was there something in particular, sweetie, I don't really have the time to read everything... Some people find themselves in the "church" for the wrong reasons, of course they need to find their own path. Others are dissatisfied with christianity because they have preconceived ideas of what it should be. There are those in it for what they can get out of it, and when the going gets rough they leave. It's really NOT for everyone. But a real, authentic christian would not leave Christ because they have become part of Him and you can't walk away from your arm or your leg. Does that help? Really, I didn't have time to read all...

I think its a great site to share the Word of God and reach the lost or should I say those who don't believe in Jesus Christ as the Only Way.

Jesus said it best..........
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Luk 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

If I was to just stay at church and just speak to christians and never come in contact with non-believers then I'm useless.

Jam 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

God bless in Jesus Christ and praise God and not men!

So now what??
If everyone converted to paganim, devil worship, fornication, adultery, child porn, would you be happy?? If we were 80% Sodomite and approved bestiality and every other thing you can think of would you be happy?? You work so hard to stop christian values and the preaching of them. If we took them completely out would it make you happy??
Have I ever heard you in favor of some nice thing that you were working toward and dedicating your life to.. Your Yahoo life is dedicated to destroying Christianity and promoting everything that the Bible says is wrong?? Think about this Bill and what life would be like without christians. You think good, but would it really.

Well, I am a devout Christian, and I know that my job is to spread the Word. I also know that I cannot change the hearts of anyone, only God can do that. I see many disrespectful, rude, and blasphemous things on this site, but Paul said (in Romans) that we should rejoice in our sufferings and persecutions for Jesus because, in doing this, we are storing up rewards in Heaven. By coming to a site like this, I can voice the Word of God to those who don't beleive.

I would wonder if the people were Christians in the first place. Just because you go to church and that you're a "good" person doesn't make you a Christian. A true Christian would not want to give up their salvation if they truly believed in the first place. So it makes me wonder if they were true Christians to start off with. That's my 2 cents

bill if it is really you, i voted for ya twice and will vote for hillary in 2008 if she runs. i am a Sovereign-Grace, Reformation Calvinist, and while i find some of this stuff interesting, it is mostly disturbing to see how Christianity has left so many people with nowhere else to get answers. Where are the Calvins, Spurgeons,Whitefields, Bunyans, etc. today? quit preaching feel good garbage and preach the Word of God, and maybe folks will find SOMEONE to trust again. HE is right where you left HIM.

Is this an act of Satan? I'm not sure what you mean by that. And I'm not sure that I can adequately describe what I believe about it, but I'll give it a go:

I believe that we don't always know and can't always describe how God or how Satan work. We can see some of the works of either of them and we may be able to attribute a theory or explanation of how it works. Like we understand rain. God makes it rain. It's not that I believe that God says, "Hmmm. I think I'll cast rain down from heaven this moment..." But God created the cycle of rain. We understand the dynamics involved in rain. But I believe it is still appropriate to say that God makes it rain. It is through His power and influence that it happens. I believe He can use rain and other forces of nature in ways that contradict our expectations. I don't necessarily believe that that is miraculous.

In sort of a similar way, I believe that Satan's influences have alternate explanations, but are in some respect, still his work in that they are counter to God's will.

Do I think that Satan hijacked some person's body and made them make the web-site? Of course not. Do I believe that it is through his influence that it was done? Sure, but maybe not in the way you would imagine.

My guess is that this person has been deeply hurt and offended by Christians and is lashing out. That's really unfortunate.

Christianity can be used as a weapon, if it is used incorrectly. Much as a scalpel can be used to kill instead of heal. Doesn't mean the scalpel is bad, but that it is being used for other than it's intended purpose. Christianity is meant to heal - not of our physical ailments, but our spiritual ones. Clearly, healing has not happened to this man, but injury.

Who would be happy over that other than Satan? It is his work in that it is his influence and will that subverted Christianity being used correctly in this man's case.

How that would manifest in a practical manner, would be that this man's parents and church believed lies and practiced control and manipulation rather than love. I think they fall under the category of Christians on the other site you listed where I found the following interesting quote:

"Conversely, there are Christians who desire no real intellectual exchange but who are motivated to 'debate' by the prospect of man-handling their beliefs into their opponent's minds. Throwing scriptures at people who don't believe in God is not only illogical, it is ineffective. Condemning people who don't believe in hell to hell, is not only illogical and ineffective, it's also hypocritical because the Bible has made it very clear that this type of judgment is reserved for God. Just like their skeptic counterparts, Christians, who resort to these tactics, thwart attempts for real understanding to take place...."

Some use God to over-power and abuse others. They will have to answer to God for their misuse of His word and their abuse of power. As Satan has influenced them, my guess is that they will end up with him.

The really tragic thing, IMO, is that despite Satan's influence in this man's injury, this man is now unwittingly aiding Satan's agenda. In order to find his way back to God, he will need to forgive those who hurt him under the guise of doing God's will.

While that seems unfair, it is for his ultimate good.

I was where he is. The bitterness eats you alive. Forgiveness is the only way to be whole and free.

Just because christian fundamentalism like evangelicalism is illogical doesn't mean that all religion is wrong or illogical. In fact because of the uncaused cause argument, it is much more logical to believe in some sort of God.
