I am 12 yrs. old, about 5" 4' and I weigh about 123 pounds. I've tried exercising daily and eating a little less, but I can't really stick to it. Should I tell someone and have them help me out? What should I do?

Make a daily meal and exercise plan for each day. That means on Monday, I'm eating this and I'm doing this exercising; On Tuesday, I'm eating this and I'm doing that exercising.

When I get up in the morning, I know what I'm going to have for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It takes away any temptation.

Don't rely on friends or family. Make your own meals if you have to ahead of time and freeze them. If you know your going to the theater and want popcorn for example, bring low-fat popcorn with you. Your friends may laugh, but hey, they won't laugh, when you've reached your goal.

Make fitness a daily part of your life. This means leaving the PC behind for a while and getting out and doing things. Preferably things that elevate your heart rate and get you active. Go for a jog, take you bike out for a ride, do something. Whatever you do, find a way to enjoy something that involves fitness. Sitting in your room doing crunches isn't fun... believe me.

As far as your diet is concerned, you should try tracking your food intake and your calorie expenditures. You may not be as bad off as you think. I love the website http://www.fitday.com, it's free and very useful and is a great tool to see where you are in terms of your intake of food. I find that when I am monitoring what I put in my body, that I get healthier in terms of eating.

You should be outside having fun instead of sitting in front of a computer. It is summer you know...take swimming lessons, go play some games, do something active. That itself will cause you to lose weight (if that is what you are worried about).
