Bi know im kinda void from the question cause i am allready in iraq, but i read some of the answers and just had to send some thanks for just the thoughts, first id like to start with I WOULD NOT GIVE UP MY SPOT IN IRAQ, i mean dont get me wrong it is hard, and hot, and all that but then again i have made more great friends, and lost more friends in iraq then my whole life. ok now for the thanks.

WNCAN47, i dont know you but just cause u are a dissabled vett i owe u all the thanks i can muster, i know the coutry didnt allways show it but ive allways been proud of ever vet who served our flag in anyway, u dont need a spot here my friend, u have earned ur right to be called a hero allready

ebskinner u clearly do care about my brothers and i, cause before i was alloud to come here i would have said the same thing and ill still stand by it, im tired of wathing my friends who have a wife or kids be the ones who get hurt and i know if i could take thier place at any price i would cause i know if i die im not like them, i am not able to be missed.

and to everyone else u all just made my day, for some reason i keep comeing back to yahoo answers and it never fails to anger me how much people on here seem to hate me just for what i do. but u all. u guys all allright by me and i just had to take the time to say thank you to you all, i wish i had more time to thank u all personaly that said the great things here. but i have a memorial to get to. but u all sleep well tonight, and if u can pray for my commrads over here that deserve so much more credit then they get, and for thier families.

Of course. I'm a Soldier, so of course I'd go. Everyone that screams to bring us home should take you up on this, so we could go home for 6 months. Heck, let's just do it a week at a time. One person could send 52 Soldiers home a year.

No. I'm not qualified to do a good job. On the other hand, if there were something I could do to keep those soldiers safe, or help them see their families, I would.

Check out www.OperationCallHome.net to see how to send phone cards to soldiers away from home.

Check out www.OpGratitude.com to send a care package to a soldier to say thank you.

Check out www.OperationHomeFront.net to help take care of the soldier's family while they are away.

Great question, by the way!

I'd do it in a heartbeat. I loved serving in Iraq and would go back again if I had the chance. Don't get me wrong, I hated Iraq, but I was doing something important and felt satisfied about it.a

I really wish i could but because of my age (58) and a svc connected disability there's no way they'd ever let me. So in a way my answer doesn't count because to me it's put up or shut up. personally though i don't think at this point in my life i have that much to lose compared to these young guys. my children are grown and lifes been good. my concern would be that my performance would let someone down.

If I was allowed to, you BET!!!

I tried to enlist in the Army when I was 18. A severe hearing impairment kept me from going any further.

Too bad, too, I scored GREAT on my ASFAB and had my pick of what I wanted to do. :(

No way.

That would be like spending the night over someone's house that you don't like over and over. Except you are fired upon more often.

If I didn't have to pass the physical requirements I would leave right now.

I am in the military. I will go if they tell me to because that is what I volunteered to do.
