I saw a simliar question about Christains, I assume it's because so many people speak about that group in a dergoatory way that any time you feel as if a group you belong to is being stereotyped in any way you will immediately become defensive. I like the fact that you said "some girls" instead of just "girls" - it makes a big difference!

Because they have been programmed to react that way by what they see in the media. Most women get angry when asked those questions, and if you ask them, they really don't know why. Talk about brainwashing. (I'm a girl and I don't get offended)
