French bulldogs resemble Boston terriers in their size and temperament, and are VERY sensitive to hot and cold weather. English bulldogs are much bigger, and more sturdy. You may want to look into a miniature English bulldog to get the best of both worlds! They're cute, but be warned--very expensive. And you have to pay that if you want a quality pet, even if it's not for show, because it shows that you're getting it from a reputable breeder, not just someone who's doing it for money.

English bulldogs are larger (45-55 lbs), and have the floppy rose-ears (kinda folded in half). French bulldogs are smaller (25-35 lbs) and have tall, pointy bat-ears.
