A lawyer would be able to help, also try talking to the local media. Are we talking about Norfolk VA? Because I'd bet that WAVY TV 10 would LOVE to hear about this, especially with some photos. That would depend, of course (I'm sorry to say this) on what he was in for. Some things they probably wouldn't air. But if you can get some photos, and threaten to take them to the press, I'd bet that they would give him his medicine.

My advice is to give your son's attorney a call and let him/her know what is going on. Medication given by a doctor cannot be legally refused. At least not in most cities. You would have to check your local laws, rules of the Department of Correction, etc. to be certain. That would take forever, so the best thing would be to phone your son's attorney and ask for assistance.

You know...I would think as a parent you'd be much more concerned about your son's reason and lifestyle that landed him in the clink instead of snivelling about how he can't get his Clearasil or whatever it is he's taking.
Instead of whining about his time in the slammer maybe you should wonder abit more about his lifestyle and why he ends up there.
Unless of course you're of the criminal element too. Maybe YOU failed in raising him to be a law abiding and productive member of society. If that isn't the case you should be thinking about what you have to say to him to jog his simple mind to remind him to stay on the straight and narrow.
Tough too....anyone that goes to jail always gets the aches, pains, etc. Three days in jail. Sounds like a real peach this boy of yours.

No they cannot do this legally, If they know of a medical condition and do not make arrangements for the medicine to be administered then you should sue the individual deputies, the jail as a whole, and the state. Also criminal offenses could be charged against them

My understanding is that they have to give medications that are perscribed by a doctor. If they don't have the med available, the person can supply their own supply. I would have your son take pictures, get a doctor to write down the condition and the perscription, and then see a lawyer.

you know what? I would talk to a lawyer. I wouldn't care how many I would have to talk to, there is something that can be done. There is always a loop hole in everything. I wouldn't let them get away with crap.
