biggup2 is right.

Hangovers are caused by dehydration. The alcohol dehydrates you, so before AND after, drink lots of water.

Coffee is the WORST thing you could do! caffiene is also a diuretic, meaning it replaces water. Asprin? no, it is also a diuretic.

In fact, most of this worlds morons think that they need caffeine or expensive energy drinks to wake up. 90% of the time, lack of energy is due to dehydration. (think about it, you just woke up from X hours of sleep with nothing to drink during that time) People don't drink enough water.

For energy boost: (not hangover) Try drinking 1 cup (as in measurement) of coffee, then two glasses of water. You'll be surprised. Of course for those who usually drink 1 gallon of coffee a day, you will have to get off the habit.

Second of all, there is nothing wrong with alcohol. Prohibition is done with long ago, folks. Get over it.

Water, water, water. Drink it like a fish. If you can manage to get a glass in before you pass out, that helps too, hehe. Eat a decent sized breakfast, with a lot of toast and nothing too greasy. Fruit juice helps too. Basically, your body has been poisoned and to get them out you have to flush your system, so that the toxins will be absorbed into what you ingest and be passed along through your digestive system. It's like pouring a little gasoline on a fire to get it going faster. But you want to replace what you're burning, so don't just drink water and think that will cure all.

Try "a little bit of the hair of the dog that bit ya".....meaning, whatever u drank to get drunk the night before, drink it the next morning....supposedly cures a hangover....I have never tried it, but hear it works....I don't usually get hangovers, no matter how drunk I get......only 1 type of drink does that to me, so I avoid it as much as I can

I have not had a bad hangover in nearly 20 years...The first step to prevention is to eat food as you drink. Food absorbs alcohol and makes it harder for your body to absorb it. Alcohol also dehydrates you so you need to drink plenty of water as you drink. For me, after a night of drinking, I will stop drinking an hour or two before I have to go home. Before bed I will drink two big glasses of water and take some aspirin and vitamin C.

The reason u feel like sh!t is a. you poisoned yourself and b. Your dehydrated because your body needs 2-3 times the water to alcohol for the liver to break it down, and c all that urinating depleted your body of nessassary nutrients and water soulable vitiamins. The cure!

Step one posion control: Activated charcoal has been used for 1000's of years to treat food posioning and such. It is still given in emergency rooms today. You can obtain sterile medical grade stuff through your pharmacy or online health/vitimin store it is used in herbal cleansing. MIx 1 teaspoon with water and drink to quiet a upset stomach.

Step two Rehydrate! Many people will tell you sports drink like gatorade but I recommend childrens pedialyte. The reason being is gatorade has only one electrolyte and lots of sugar. You don't want a suger rush and crash right now! The pedialyte is formulated for infants so its really fast and easy to metabolize, your stomach will thank you later.

Step three: Because you went and went and went somemore you passed all your minerals particulary potassium and magnesium as well as water soluable vitamins like c. You need to restock the shelves. You could take a vitamin pill and wait till hell froze over for it to get to your bowel or you get a bottle of liquid multi vitamins at any good vitamin store ( gnc) and keep it in the fridge. Just double or triple the recommanded daily dose on the label and add it to your pedialyte.

Lastly let me add a few things avoid things like red bull that have tons of caffine as these will dehydrate you more and although the hair of the dog can make you feel better by slowing your crash it's still a crash. If you do all what I put above you will feel about 70% better in one hr depending on you and what you did to yourself. Then have somemore.

Sleep is the final key and is usually the hardest to get, but try anyhow.

PS. If you can avoid aspirin and tylenol they just mask the pain. You don't feel like this cause your body is low on aspirin.

Here's a clip from a medical study, tell me the symptoms aren't the same as a hangover!

Symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency?
What are some of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency? They are outlined beautifully in a recent article by Dr. Sidney Baker. Magnesium deficiency can affect virtually every organ system of the body. With regard to skeletal muscle, one may experience twitches, cramps, muscle tension, muscle soreness, including back aches, neck pain, tension headaches and jaw joint (or TMJ) dysfunction. Also, one may experience chest tightness or a peculiar sensation that he can't take a deep breath. Sometimes a person may sigh a lot.

Here's one w/ potassiums;

The symptoms of potassium deficiency include muscle weakness, confusion, irritability, fatigue, and heart disturbances. Athletes with low potassium stores may tire more easily during exercise, as potassium deficiency causes a decrease in glycogen (the fuel used by exercising muscles) storage.

So now you know why every muscle in your body aches and the smallest task has u out of breath and you feel so tired........

Lastly I included two links if you read about the symptoms of magnesium/potassium deficiency. Please verify everything!

Drinks lots of water before going to bed, even though most times it's not the funnest thing to do. Hydration is the biggest thing, but eating things like oranges or eggs the next day helps too.

Drink as much water as you can and take two aspirin before you go to sleep. When you get up, drink as much water as you can, take two more aspirin and a couple Vitamin B, and keep drinking water. Eat some fatty food as soon as your stomach can handle it (I like sandwiches with lots of mayo). A little booze helps too, but that can lead to a month-long bender.

for this remedy you need a non-wasted friend, the one that doesn't drink because he-she has to drive? grab him or her. before going to sleep/pass out/die ask that one to force YOU to drink at least 2 litres of water, and if you managed to pee in the toilet instead of yourself in the morning you will not even remember being drunk! or what you did as a matter of fact

Too much alcohol causes dehydration. I take two aspirin and a full 12 oz of water before bed.
