The new Commander is a great vehicle. It is very capable of off-road and on-road. They have new independent front suspension for a much smoother ride and handling. The frame is made from quiet steel which reduces nvh (noise vibration harshness). The front side windows are made from laminate which won't shatter and are 150% stronger. The big improvement is the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) this will save more lives than safety belts, look it up on edmunds.com. Another cool feature is the 3 rows of stadium seating, you can carry 7 passengers if needed or haul a ton of stuff. The Commander may look big but it feels and handles like a Grand Cherokee. It can also tow up to 7,500lbs and still get decent gas mileage.

Any jeep is worth the money if you put the work into it, that means taking care of it and such. Its merely a matter of personal taste when it comes to the commander. I happen to think they're okay, but jeeps are made for the unpaved and their new lines are becoming very luxury oriented. Not my style, but if that's what you're into.

NO! The reason behind that answer is the fact that they are "uni-body" construction.
