No, it's not legal. In the US, some states may allow marriage with parental consent at ages younger than 18, but this is a slippery subject, and love or not, sex with a minor is illegal, even for minors.
Sex between a 35 year old, and a 17 year old is generally bad for the mental health of the 17 year old, and is very bad for the legal standing of the 35 year old. Bad like rough prison love, which is likely to happen.
In the UK, apparently you can do it, but it still isn't legal. I don't really understand UK law.
As a general rule, you should not discuss any relationships between adults, and minors, especially not on the internet.

I would imagine once she's 18 you'll be legal. Quite frankly I can't imagine what you'd even talk about. Not too many sophisticated 18 year old males and females out there. Unless of course you have the mind of an 18 year old at 35. In that case you'll no doubt do just fine.

If you truly loved her you would let her get some experience of her life be a young girl and grow into a young woman. She has her 18th to look forward to and the years to her 21st any guidance isn't for you to give through these years that's for her Friends and family to do. and if you say it wouldn't bother you if your 17 year old daughter had a relationship with a man your age--1 you'd be a crap father and 2 always rings alarm bells when older men have sex with young girls cos she is just a young girl

there are reasons for the law, what is stupid is someone who is supposed to be grown up and on his way in life finding anything interesting in a 17 year old. really what could you possibly have in common? the fact is if you really cared about her you would realize how bad this is for her and leave her alone, love means you do whats best for the other person even if that means not being with you, anything else is not love, lust sure but darn dude grow up already!

Well if you are in real love try staying away from each other for about 2 weeks and that includes dating, calling, sex, etc. Then if you still feel that special bound then go back out but stay away from sex until she is 18 then have a celebration. It's not only illegal it's immoral and just gross. How can it even be a relationship she hasn't had nearly the life experience you have. Just try to imagine if you were in her father's shoes. Also think of how much you have changed since you were 17.

It depends on where you live. In some states the age of consent is 16, others 18. Close never counts...
