If you have a Jayteens organization, they would be a great place to start! The Jayteens are a branch of the Jaycees, which is a leadership training and community service group for 18-40 year olds.
I also can tell you that YMCAs would be another good place to look. Volunteer in to help take care of the kids in daycare, help run the teen centers, and help volunteer with the summer daycamp programs are all good options. Make sure to tell them you wish to volunteer, not work there.
Good luck! I remember being 14 and wanting to help the world, too. You will find something if you look hard enough.

Check out the local Animal Shelter. They always need volunteer help. Walk dogs in your spare time in the neighborhood. Once you have a good background of volunteer work, people will be more willing to give you the type of work which requires using your brain. The volunteer work that requires using your brain usually calls for a background of dedication, and by volunteering in other areas, you are proving that you can be responsible. It's getting your foot in door....
Good luck to you! You're positive attitude will take you farther than you can imagine.

It is great that you want to volunteer!!! The idea of volunteering is to help and to meet people. Using your brains will come later on. As you meet more people they may introduce you to places where you would like to work. We all have to begin somewhere. There are many volunteering places where you have to be smart. Talk to your parents, friends, even colleges and schools...Remember the idea is to do something you like and to meet people.

Try volunteering at a homeless shelter, the hospital, or at a place where mentally challenged people are. Where I am, there is a place where people take their aluminum cans and mentally challenged people work there. I take my cans there and I just love chatting with them. They are so sweet.
