Question about poppy seeds and drug tests?

My friend from california called me today and wanted me to look up burger king and see if they still use poppy seeds in there food or on there food..... She said that she called a burger king out there and asked them, but they said that they didnt use poppy seeds ne more but they use (sesame?)seeds and they tried to tell her that they were basicallly the same ....r poppy seeds and sesame seeds alike?? I know that poppy seeds r black and the others r white or whatever. This is her question ,she wanted to know if a person who ate at burger king then got a drug test would it come up as n e thing???? She knows that poppy seeds does come up on a drug test she just wanted to know about the other seeds....... this is a really dumb question to me but she wanted to know ..... Shes alittle weird........ I was going to look on Burger kings website but i thought it would be better just to ask it on here ........... Eating food (e.g. muffins) that contains poppy seeds can make someone test positive for opiates in a drug test. Although the drug opium is produced from the unripe fruits ("seed pods") rather than the seeds, all parts of the plant can contain the opium alkaloids. This was featured on the American television show Seinfeld, and was tested on the television program MythBusters which confirmed that one could test positive for narcotics after consuming four poppy seed bagels.

Poppy seeds have some opium in them. Sesame seeds do not have any. Poppy seeds can be seen on a drup test, but they are below the reporting threshold and will not cause a positive test. The are both small and crunchy.

Eat all the sesame seeds you want and they will cause a positive drug test.

Sesame seeds are entirely different types of seeds than poppy seeds... they come from two different plants. Sesame seeds come from a stalk, and poppy seeds from a flower. In order to test positive on a drug test you would have to eat a heck of a lot of poppy seeds!!! Even though certain drugs are derived from natural plants... the way opium comes from poppy seeds... eating the seeds in its natural form doesn't have the same effect on your body. As for BK... I've never seen anything there with poppy seeds on it. Then again, I rarely eat fast food.

seseame seeds are fine but if u eat enough poppy seeds the drug test would be positive. havent u ever seen the poppy seed episode of seinfeld. its so funny

Nope, seasame seeds will not make you test positive for drug tests. Poppy seeds will however since they come from the same source as opium.

Sesame seeds are harmless. However, if you ate a poppyseed muffin and then took a drug test, yes, you would come up positive.

they're the same in respect that both of them are seeds.but since the poppy seeds aren't in they're chemical form i don't think anything will happen.
