The best keepsakes are home made ones! You should knit him a hat if you knit, and if you're good throw some matching booties in for fun. If you sew, you could sew a little hat and shirt up or something. My favorite keepsakes from when I was young were the dresses that my grandmom made me when I was little, with little tiny matching shoes! If you can't sew or knit, maybe you could make him a little toy out of wood, or draw or paint him a little picture he can continue to enjoy as he gets older. I say, if there's any thing you know how to make with your own hands, that's the gift to give.

Lemme guess. You're Catholic, right? The Bible shows that baptism is only for those have decided to give their life to God. This is a decision that a person has to make on his own- nobody can make that decision for them. Since infants are not mature enought to make a decision concerning this, they should not be baptised.

the gift I gave my godchild was his baptismal outfit. His mom, my sis, cried she was soo grateful, and now they have a beautiful keepsake for him when he grows up!

I would get him a cute little baby bible with cute pictures and some cute toy (a fun toy, and an educational one).

silver rattles are sort of traditional.
Blankets and clothes are more useful.

The baby can only appreciate things like soft toys and bright colors right now.
