Not completely. We define things in opposites. I know it's light because I also know what dark is. That doesn't mean that you have to have evil with us or around us. If I live in the Artic Circle for a time, I may not see darkness for six months. But I know that night and darkness do exist, just not where I am. But evil must exist and be remembered so that we understand good.

You can't have good without evil or light without dark. Everything must have its opposite so that the world has balance. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, Einsteins theory of relativity.

Simple. Good is not electromagnetic radiation that strikes the back of your eye and stimulates special cells which send a signal to your brain that translates those signals into an image. This whole idea is what I like to call pseudo-wisdom. It sounds nice, but doesn't really make any sense when you give it more than a passing thought. How is the notion of "goodness" *really* like the radiation of light? It isn't. So why would it logically follow the same rules?

I guess you could have good without evil... but how would you appreciate the Good or even understand what Good is without being able to compare it to an opposite? I think that is impossible. You would never understand the good in yourself or other people if you didn't even know what "bad" was.

No. The very definitions of light and good are in comparison to darkness and evil. I can see that ye art a deep thinking, I encourage you to remain unbiased and know that there are many doors in the house of God. May ye find love and glory through Jesus Christ and his Father, Amen.

Yes, good could exist for many without evil, however this might be good or BAD for others who may miss the religious connotation of the word evil.

When you judge something as 'good', you create an equivalent balance of 'bad' somewhere so labeling events with either term creates the other to be.
Just see things as "they are" instead of "they are good" or "they are bad". Remember, evil is in the eye of the beholder the same as beauty is.

Yes, in heaven. But on earth, Satan is alive and brings evil everywhere. Fortunately for us, God is more powerful and can save us from Satan's evil plan to destroy us.
