My doctor put me on Zoloft for anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. However, I have always had a weight problem and just recently finally started losing weight with the help of a nutrionist and I just don't want to ruin my progress. I've heard people say that Zoloft makes people gain weight and then some say it makes you lose weight or doesn't affect weight one way or the other. Has anyone here experienced a weight problem taking Zoloft?

When I was first put on Zoloft, 50mg, I had no weight gain at all. Once the dose was kicked up to 100mg I gained 15 pounds in a short period of time, maybe two weeks, I can't really remember. The original dose is what I have been on for 8 years and works great. Good luck.

My mom is on it and it's been a constant struggle for her to shed weight ever since she started taking it. I'm not sure if it's that it makes you want to eat more or if the weight just piles on mysteriously. either way, go to this site: http://www.crazymeds.org/ and look up Zoloft. it tells you all of the Pros and Cons of it, along with just about every other "brain" meds that you can think of.

Yes, Zoloft is one of the antidepressants that can contribute to weight gain. If that happens maybe cut down on carb intake.

been there. It depends on your body. as long as you stay active you should be just fine. but with some people it makes them very tired and they become couch potatoes.
you will be fine. good luck with everything.
