Bitto luv's answer makes lots of sense, and I thank her for it. I DO generalize, I admit. Sometimes to make a point, sometimes for comic effect. Sometimes I'm just a horse's @$$. But I try not to be racist.

It doesn't make you a racist one bit...The ones that label you a racist because of your comments are the ones that think we should make "allowances" for the illegals because they, after-all, "just want a better life" All I know is, if I, an American born, legal citizen of this country break the law, I better have a good attorney and lots of cash to keep myself out of jail because there are NO allowances made for most legal Americans in this country..so why the double standard? Breaking the law is cut and dry...there is NO gray area. And why be called a racist if you see first hand illegal behavior being done by Illegals????.. I too have seen first hand some behavior of illegals who lived right at the end of my block...the authorities were contacted and they were gone...along with their stolen cars and stolen plates which is the reason the call was made because several of the neighbor's had noticed different out of state plates on the same cars more than once..That is not being racist...that is looking out for the safety of where you live

Criticizing behavior does not make you a racist. However I would call you a racist if you were to say that all Mexican men are drunks and all Mexican women are whores and have a large amount of children. Why? Because you are lumping my family and I into the group and that's just not the case. In fact, I have only two children, am a professional and a home business owner. Also, my father, and none of the men in my family are drunks.

You have to admit that yes, white trash does exist, lazy, drunk Mexicans do exist, black drug dealers exist, smart Asians do too, greedy Jews do exist as well. However, not ALL people within those races and colors should be stereotyped and put into those groups.

There are many, many successful Mexicans, Latinos, African Americans, Asians, Jews, and White people to just undermine their efforts and call an entire group lazy, drunk, drug dealers, or whatever. When you do generalize about an entire group of people your comments can, and should be perceived as discriminatory.

I don't feel that makes you racist. People here always call a person a racist who tries to defend their anti-illegal immigrant stance against them, because they have no sound facts to back up their pro-illegal immigrant stance other than, "But he's the father of my 6 kids! I love him!" That's what you usually find out from the women on here who post so vehemently about being pro and demanding amnesty for the illegals. If you keep reading their posts, soon you get the real story, and it is usually that they are romantically involved with one. Pretty poor basis to be "for" illegal immigrants, as far as I am concerned!

I don't think ANYONE should be criticized for their behavior. I just have a few questions.

1. Were the illegals wearing a sign that said "I AM ILLEGAL"?
2. Was the behavior offensive?
3. Was the criticism warranted?

Even if you answer YES to all three questions......it doesn't make you racist. Stupid and childish......but not racist.

Feel flattered. When the pro-illegal is backed into a corner, "racist" is all they have. Of course, some of them started out in the corner. They know they are in the wrong, and instead of admitting it, they want to guilt trip others into giving them what they want.

I don't think it makes you a racists to criticize bad behavior, it doesn't matter what race they belong to, but the Mexicans find it offensive because you are picking on their people. If you pointed out bad behavior on illegal white people, then they would say you are right.

Criticizing the behavior of a person does not make you racist. Assigning that behavior to all people of a given race because you see one person (or even hundreds of people) of that race enact that behavior is racist.

Make sense?

It would only make you racist if you then generalized all Illegals that way. They have rights too, you know...well, maybe not. But it is still the p.c. thing to do.
