When a cat is really happy - like totally happy - it will drool. My vet told me that one. If you would feel more comfortable, take your cat to the vet and have him check his teeth. Could be a problem, but probably a very happy kitty!

There are a few reasons cats drool. If the cat has just started this- there may be a medical problem like bad teeth, or something caught in its throat, I would see a vet as soon as possible.
Cat also drool when they are agitated, Seeing a bird at the window, or even being petted when they are not interested, if the cat has other signs of agitation when it drools, like tail waving, I would say that is your simple answer.

My cat Gosalyn was a natural drooler when in my lap and purring. He could also lap water and flip it half way across the room.
My cat Freddie is missing his front bottom teeth (he broke the canines before we adopted him and they had to be extracted) and he drools because of the missing teeth.
Dental problems will cause drooling. Serious dental problems CAN kill your kitty. An absessed tooth will cause major league drooling as well as being terribly painful for the fur baby.

My mothers cat did the same thing, and nothing was wrong with her either. My kitten drools a little when shes eating, but her teeth are coming in too. Sorry , I dont know why they do it ? But at least you cat is not the only one that does it.

Probably not. I have one who drools just about everytime I touch him. I mean it just drips from him. The happier he is, the more he slobbers. I also used to have another who drooled if she was nervous ( ie vets office ) or really really happy. You may want to have his teeth and gums checked just in case though. Dental problems can cause drooling and some other very nasty things to happen. If he checks out okay, just keep a towel handy and enjoy your kitty.

There is nothing most likely wrong with the cat. It is probaly when he starts getting getting tired that he starts to drool. I mean people do that why cant cats?

I have four cats . . . one of them is a "droller" I think it means he's happy, or something. Nothing wrong with him, just salivates when he purrs.
