Why do people (not all people) push their faith on others. If everyone beleived in the same god or gods or if everyone had the samae religous beleifs their would be no such thing as individuality. Why when someone asks a simple question a Christian will turn to you and say "Just look to God for answers" I mean who says that person asking the question is Christian. who says they aren't of a different faith if of any at that. Why do certain religous groups say being open minded and forgiving and understanding is a way of life and yet they do not accept others fully if they are of a different faith or worse..of none? Who are you to judge, nobody should judge anyone but themselves.

Please nobody tell me that it has to do with basic physcology... I've taken tons of Sociology, Phsycology and Religous courses... this is something people dont like to discuss because it forces them to question ... so seriously... why not question? What makes your religion better than others... what makes your judgement right.... why that religion.... why does attending church make you better than those of who dont.... etc etc

Religion I think, is less about having peace of mind, and more about being right and feeling in control.

I don't know why people do that, but you have some very bad reasoning in your question. First, just because a large group of people believes in the same religion doesn't mean that there would be no individuality. That's like saying I'm exactly the same as every other person who believes in Christ, which is frankly really stupid. Second, I don't really know of many religious groups that preach open-mindedness and understanding as a way of life. That's definitely more of an anti-religion, liberal line of thinking. Plus, there's a huge difference between someone saying "I respect you as a person, and your rights to your beliefs" and saying "I believe that your beliefs are just as correct as my own," which is what some people consider to be the only "politically correct" viewpoint to have these days, which is complete nonsense.

hmm. I am a Christian, but I never felt I have ever pushed my faith on others--only if they asked a question. But I feel people do it alot of times out of concern for others souls. However, people that are unkind to others, and unforgiving are not really Christians no matter what name they go by. Jesus taught love and kindmess toward others, and we are to be that way. Judging can be wrong, but some things are in front of your eyes--it is called fact.-----Going to church does not make you better, but knowing Jesus can make you act better. Learning about GOd at church can help you draw closer to him, and thus, continue to act better. I dont know maybe I am better--I am a child of the King!!

Most religions want their people to push their religion on us. I am on a much different spiritual path and our beliefs do not include pushing ourselves on others. No one should judge another person but that is what humans do to each other for religious, political, lifestyle, racial reasons. Everyone wants to be right. If you dont agree with them then you are wrong. For me these are people that are not in touch with their spirituality and their faith has become their lives probably because they are not happy with their life or who they are. It makes them feel special and exclusive.

No one should judge another person. That is God's job. Even according to us Christians. What I haven't often used for advice that doesn't work for me is "Keep the best and throw out the rest". Everyone is trying to help in there own way with what they have to offer. If it doesn't work for you don't use. I would suggest trying to keep a positive outlook. At least they tried to help with what they have to offer. Believe me as a Christian I have received plenty of advice from non-christians like "You really need to tie one on and forget about it" or other things that don't line up with my beliefs. People only offer what works for them. I don't get angry at them. I just thank them for trying to help.

It is basic pyschology, we all look towards someone/something to lead us or guide us. Wars have been fought over the subject of religion, heck the U.S was founded by people who simply wanted religious freedom. It all boils down to the person and they're belief structure. Some religions even require you to "preach" to others...it could be a lot of different things.

some people are naive and don't possess the wisdom needed to get someone converted....in a cause that you are fighting for you want people to join and help you fight..so you go out and ask people to join, that's what Christians do, but they aren't only asking you to fight for a cause they are asking you to be saved, and love God with all your heart...they don't accept other religions naturally nor do they accept sin naturally because they have been taught against it, but like i said some of us are naive and don't even stop to think about the cause we are fighting for and what the rules said...when you meet a Christian who lives by the love of christ then you will not feel forced to be saved, they're way of life and living will prove the bible for them, some people want to be saved but haven't had anybody ask and we are here for them too...don't take it personal, some just haven't quite learned yet......

As a Christian and believer we are required by faith to witness to others of God's love and mercy. In the Bible there is no gray area between right and wrong. If you "look to God" for answers;hopefully, you will be able to do what is right.

When dealing with absolutes, if you have two or more answers, at least all but one of them is wrong. God absolutely is or is not. And He absolutely is or is not Jesus.

Therefore, you are either right or wrong - there is no other possibilty.

They are just witnessing what they think is the truth.
They are simply telling their perspective like anyone else.
