Try only conditioning your hair every other day, or just use a light leave-in conditioner.
If that doesn't work, try swithcing the shampoo you use. You may need something stronger, so you might have to buy something a tad more expensive than the usual over-the-counter shampoos. A professional salon shampoo would be best. Ask your hair stylist (or A hair stylist) what shampoo would be best for your hair.

Well you may want to get a perm if your hair is straight, or dont use conditioners, also try washing your hair once a week in DAWN, it will strip all the gunk out and remove some oil. Believe it or not the natural oils from your scalf is great for your hair strength. Wash your hair every morning. Keep fingers out of it. When I was a yungster I had oily hair...now it is not!

go to the store and but this shampoo made by neutrogena. I forgot what it is called but it is a clear soap in a rectanglular bottle. It strips the grease out of your hair. It says use once a week but if you have very thick oily hair i would use it twice a week.............. like on a monday and thursday........that way it looks great every day of the week!

I have the same problem. When I'm in the shower, I just shampoo my hair twice and then condition. The second time you shampoo really helps to get all the extra grease out.

Wash it everyday. If that doesn't help, or if you're already doing that, than go to your local drug store and buy a shampoo & conditioner specifically for oily hair.

shampoo for oily hair and don't use conditioner on your scalp/roots..... if it's really bad, maybe the problem is deeper and you need to change something internally (eating habits, etc) but i couldn't help with that.

sprinkle baby powder on it and brush it through.
The baby powder will pull out the extra oil.
