I understand you mean no disrespect, but think about what you are asking. Why would God tell us as siblings to have sex? Sure, Adam and Eve's children HAD to to populate the earth, that makes sense and I am sure the Lord supported it. I am LDS (Mormon) and we teach that sex only within marriage is OK in the eyes of the Lord. Sex with our siblings, would be a HUGE no-no, and not just because you weren't married to them. We believe in love between a man and woman, marriage in the holy temple that lasts throughout eternity. So whomever you are hearing these silly things about sibling sex is seriously mis-informed or just plain gossip-spreading.

In the Mormon church, we believe that a man and woman should only have sex within the legal and lawful bonds of marriage.

Legal means following the laws of the land.

Lawful means following the laws of God.

Mormons believe in following the laws of the land.

We also believe in following the laws of God.

Sex is procreation, or in other words, it is sharing power with God to bring His spirit children into the world. It is sacred, and should only be done within the bonds of marriage. It is very important to remember that Mormons regard procreation as sacred.

Now, if God determined that it would be necessary for siblings to procreate, 1. He'd have a good reason, and 2. They would first be legally and lawfully wedded. That kind of thing hasn't been necessary since 1000s of years before Christ's birth, and now that we're 6 billion deep in humans on this planet, I don't see it as being necessary any time soon.

The other thing to remember is that Mormons believe that God has given man the right to choose for himself. Therefore, if either of the siblings didn't want to get married, God wouldn't make them do it.

In the Book of Mormon, in the very first few chapters, a prophet, named Nephi, is commanded by God to kill a wicked man, so that Nephi and his posterity may have a record of God's dealings with his ancestors. Nephi questions the command from God, saying that he had never shed blood, nor desired to kill a man. God explained that it was better that one man die than a whole nation should "dwindle and perish in unbelief."

So, God had a very good reason, and since God said it was OK, then Nephi did it.

Mormons love to answer questions. We're officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We're also referred to as LDS. Talk to some real Mormons in person. I think you'll really benefit.

In the case of Adam and Eve obviously it would have been necessary for incest to occur. Even if you don't believe in the Bible, biologists recognized that mankind had to have resulted from incest since mankind is the only primate species with 46 chromosomes. Incest had to be practiced within the first several generations in order for homo sapiens (or its progenitor) to multiply. Obviously it is not recommended now as it can cause birth defects.

Official Mormon doctrine is that sexual relations can only occur between a man and a woman who are legally wed. I would assert that Mormons are following God's commandment regarding morality and chastity more strictly than other Christian denomination. Other christian denominations lie about Mormon beliefs. Many of the most vocal liars were former Mormons who were not living according to the commandments of God.

Mormons are accustomed to these constant attacks. Since the first years, Mormons have been beaten, arrested, tortured, and even killed for their beliefs. In Missouri, Mormons were accused of promoting laws against slavery and were driven from their homes by violence.

The Mormon church has thrived under persecution and will continue to do so.

In Acts 5: 38-9 Gamaliel preaches the following
38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

I would warn people who fight against the Mormon church the same way. If it is of men, it will come to nought. If it be of God, you cannot overthrow it. The Mormon church grows despite the active work of those who try to destroy it.

May I ask what religion tells people they CAN'T do something God tells them to do?

The Mormon Church does not tell people that incest is okay today. The Mormon Church has no examples of God telling people that they can have sex outside of a legal marriage between a man and a woman.

Some times well meaning people ask questions about Mormonism that are so absurd that it makes those of us that know why Mormonism is so bad look like nuts.. Knock it off if you don't know what you are talking about..

God doesn't tell people to have sex with their siblings. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are taught to live the law of chastity, which is to only have sex with your spouse, and to never ever have sex outside of marriage. We don't marry our siblings, we don't have sex with our siblings, we wouldn't want to, and we follow God's law.

I am LDS (Mormon) And NO, you can not have sex with a sibling, no matter what anyone says. In fact, premarital sex with ANYONE is strictly forbidden. We believe in waiting until marriage to have sex.

I doubt that, but at one time, they referred to the black race as the cursed race. They recently changed that barbaric teaching not too many years back.

They have their own book -- You know what that means...

Many are really nice people, just misguided.

if any religion is that messed up, they probably wouldn't admit it to an outsider, (one who isn't a member) but I seriously hope that's not true. I have heard that, though, but you can't always believe everything you hear.
