My sister and I either don't get along much or don't have much to say to each other because we don't really have a lot in common because we're 5 years apart, will the relationship ever improve?

yes, it usually does. you start to grow more of an understanding of each other and you learn to appreciate each other. as times goes by, you'll both experience more of similar experiences and you'll go to each other for advice....my older sister's 6 years older and my younger sister's 7 years younger and we're all super close. we've learnt to work past our differences and we're each other's support. you don't neccessarily have to have things in common, but just remember that no matter what happens, family will always be there for you and you'll always be able to count on them.

My bothers are 10 & 12 years older than I am. For a long time we had nothing in common. I am 27. Today the younger of my two brothers is my best friend. As for the older we are close, he still acts as if I am a child sometimes.

It all depends, usually it gets better. Of my 4 sisters, all younger, I get along well with 3 of them. I had 2 brothers, one is deceased and he and I always got along though he was younger by 9 years. I got along with the other brother until he moved out of state, went through a terrible divorce, abandoned his children and got on drugs. We no longer have a relationship.
Sisters usually get on though once the teen years are history.

in my case.im 27 brother is 32.After yrs of him putting me in the dryer, turning it on, body slamming me like the wrestlers on tv.and all the yrs of having to live up to his legacy of sports and such.......i hated him. Now, we get along for the most part. But mr jock boy and the perfect best kid (according to my parents)has a drinking problem and had lost his lic.about 2 yrs ago! LOL SWEET REVENGE!!!!!! We only see him if he can find a ride from someone willing to drive 2 hrs to get him and bring him back home.Im another half hour away so for the 2 days i might see him through out the month......not to bad i guess.Things will improve if you can put the stuff behind you and be teh bigger person.

My brother and I never talked or had anything to do with each other when we were younger. He is three years older than me. Now that we are older, we still don't talk much but we talk more than we did and we know we love each other and we do honestly care about each other.

Yes it will I promise you, but enjoy them now while you can as life is too short not too. I sure wish I had then as I no longer have my brother now. He died unexpectedly Jan.2,2005. I still have not gotten over loosing him yet.He was the only brother that I had and I had no sisters.

In my case, with three siblings, one got worse, one stayed the same and one got better. Oh well....
