Just try to be yourself, but a little less shy! Dont let anyone tell you that you cant like someone. If they were in your shoes, would they say the same? probably not. I think that you two already share something in common--shyness! Flirt with him a little and see how he reacts. Try talking to him like it is someone you really know and are not so shy around.
