It would depend on what you steal, I suppose. Your best bet is to not steal at all.

depending on what was stolen .. petty theif no jail time i think its under $100 you well be ticketed but anything over that it is up to the court and who you stole from to press charges or not !

depending on the amount of the item or items taken. it can be a misdemeaner or felony. if your a first timer, the judge usually lets you off with a fine, community service or probation. if you have a record it can put some people in a year or more and if it causes you to have three strikes. 25 to life.

depends on type of theft, age, and if u new wat u were doing
if ur over 18 serious theft = prob 10-20 years on average
under 18 = juvey till ur 18th birthday
small theft= bout 2 years
