While safety really isn't an issue with all American carriers, comfort and conveinence aren't well known on Delta. Continental, Frontier, JetBlue, and Alaska are probably best.

Delta is a super nice airline to fly, but not the best

Midwest express is probably the best, everyone of their seaqts is first class and instead of giving you a bag of peanuts, the bake cookies fresh on the plane

United is also excellent, and so is northwest and Frontier

not a big continental fan because they got our bags all screwed up

I think it really depends on where you are flying from and where you are flying to. Overall I would say Delta is average. I hear JetBlue is pretty good. Service on all carriers is not what it used to be. Air travel is now just another way to get you from point A to point B. Unless you are flying first class or business class, don't expect too much.

Ouch this hurts...15 years ago I would have defended Delta Air Lines to the death. They were famously the best airline in the world.

Today, I wouldn't touch DL on a bet (or even a free pass.)

No. As a brit flying to atlanta a lot , its a bit of a shock changing from BA or Virgin to Delta at Kennedy. I dont really feel safe.

Personally, I don't particularly care for Delta. Everytime I'm in their Salt Lake hub there are always lots of overbooked flights. I hate that.

I prefer Continental myself, but Delta's not too bad.

TWA was the best. For those who don't know what Royal Ambassador service was, now for them flying is like being a straphanger.

They're great if you have friends in Salt Lake City as you usually spend a lot of time there
