Mj,the only reason its in the Bible is because after we discovered it,people started interpreting the Bible that way!and the Bible has been added on to for thousands of years.

How 'bout this? When you die and find out whether there is a God, come back and let us all know... Oh, wait, Harry Houdini already promised us that, and we're still waiting.
First, no-one is sure about the lunatic part- There were no psychiatrist to do an evolution...
I believe in Science. There are things that are provable... but there are things that can't be explained. For example- Nobody can be sure how life began on this planet, because nobody around today was around back then. Evolution is a good guess, but in my book, it's only that- a guess (that is what a theory is, right?) Another possibility is what they are now calling "intelligent design" Personally, this is where my money is, but, to each his own...
In the meantime- I promise to not try to "convert" you, and you promise to not make fun of my "superstitions"

Who created science? Science cannot prove anything it can only prove what is likely. You cannot say that something does not exist unless you can prove it. Have you gone everywhere and not found God? I seriously doubt you went to heaven and said, "Hey, no God here he must not exist." God is real. I'm getting baptised today and there is no doubt in my mind. Now yes, I agree science can explain a lot but it can't explain everything. Please, give God a chance. I'm begging you, please don't let what others say turn you away from Christianity. I promise you that it is worth it, God is loving and will except you. He is powerful and benevolent. If you like science so much get a Bible and research it. PLEASE!
As a Christian, I ENJOY suffering for God. God doesn't cause bad things to happen, He just knows about it ahead of time. It's like when someone has AIDS and is going to die. We know they are going to die but we didn't cause it. And it is people that cause suffering not God.

We'll get it through our thick skulls when you can provide irrefutable, scientific proof that there is no God, love. And science HAS NOT disproved the existence of God yet.
Suffering was not created by or forced on us by God. We make each other suffer. And the reason for that suffering is because God has promised not to interfere with our ability to make choices; in fact that is the worst thing he COULD do would be to interfere with our agency/ability to make our own choices and face those consequences. He wants human beings to be able to learn and grow and the only way we can do that is if we face the trials of our own making and learn how to solve our own problems. You can believe whatever the hell you want; if you want people to respect the fact that you don't believe in God, then you need to extend to them that same respect. It's called karma, buddy (For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, according to physics). Nice try, love.

Do you want the truth? OK, science is a false god. There are always inconsistencies over time, and today's "truth" is tomorrow’s "falsehood".
Proof of that is easy to come by. When many of us went to school, light was defined as "Energy in the form of a wave of various frequencies moving collectively at a common and constant velocity" That was accepted "truth" at the dawn of the space age.
Today’s definition states that. "Light consists of streams of particles callled photons which have both particle and wave properties."
Almost every existing theory had a precursor which has been abandoned. Fire was once "phlogiston", then Lavoisier's "oxygen acquisition", then molecular chemistry's "shared electrons" Even as I speak recent observations are beginning to stir up the winds of change to threaten the theories of molecular chemistry.
Einstein thought the supporters of quantum mechanics were crazy. His simple words were. "It cannot happen that way" And he spent the last years of his life trying to develop a Unified Field Theory which would explain the four known forces and their interactions under one theoretical roof. He failed.
There are some who believe that theories have brought us all of our wonderful advances. Wrong. It wasn't Newtonian Physics that got us to the moon. It was ten thousand trial and error attempts from Goddard to Von Braun and beyond that did.
Man is a wonderful observer, and he is clever enough to mimic his observations in useful form. So the observation of one way conductivity in certain elements led the way to today's microchips. And microchips led to computers.........After ten thousand trial and error attempts.
The false gods of science have limited lives. The God of Christianity and Judaism has survived for thousands of years. No scientific theory has survived a fraction of that time.
It would be an absurd arrogance for any to believe that today’s scientific "truths" are the pinnacle, and therefore represent genuine "truth". With each new observation, the theory is either modified to include the observation, or the observation is warped by interpretation to fit the theory. In the end there is always an observation so impossible to explain using old theory, that the old theory dies and is replaced by the new.
Men wisely labeled such things as "theory" in an apparently humble attempt to set a disclaimer against the concept that they "knew" anything. I blame our schools for teaching science in such a way as to make it appear infallible, thereby providing the young with an indefensible god.

Someone is missing something here. How do you explain the fact that you cannot determine the day you get born, the day you die. The orderliness in the universe. Sun, moon other terrestial bodies maintaining their positions. The differences in IQ, opportunities, differences in human ideals etc. I can go on and on. Even so called science could have been impossible without someone responsible for all these, and who has refused to change the goal post so that certain measure of orderliness could be followed through. Think my friend before it is too late.

You technically can't say that there is definatly no God, but its so extremely unlikely I also can't understand why people devote their lives to religion. If people would only look at history they would see that all other major religions were replaced by other ones, and that Christianity is no different. Hopefully the majority of people will realize that organised religion is only a way to control masses of people and that it offers no real answers to why the world is the way it is.

I used to be of the same opinion as you not too long ago, but I now believe in God, his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. As for faith in science, I can only propose that you consider the "facts" that have been proven false (e.g. evolution) compared to the truth in the Holy Bible (e.g. the life, death and resurrection of one man who accepts the sins of the world and teaches us, among many things, to love one another).

The existence of G*d can neither be proven, nor disproven. You have assigned G*d a list of characteristics, and proceed to declare that the apparent absence of these characteristics proves the non-existence of G*d.
The belief G*d does not exist requires an equal amount of faith as the belief G*d does exist.
It's complete nonsense to think that the lack of something proves anything.

there is a God. you just have not seen him yet because you are blinded by the things of this world. Even science can only reveal so much about us and what's around us. Really think about his What are the odds of us and he universe being the way it is by chance.Someone had to have done it.
