If you are talking about inquiries, trying to dispute legitimate inq's off may end up getting fraud alerts put on your reports.

The only time that you should dispute hard inq's is when you did not request credit with the company, or if the company put more than one inquiry on one of your reports.

There is a way to get them off, legally, go to the site I've linked and do some reading about B in the newbie forum

If the legitimate dings are from a credit card, try calling them. Sometimes if you call your credit card company you can convince them to take the dings off. Tell them that you're concerned about your credit rating due to the ding they gave you, refer to "how good you've been since then" and see what they say. It's amazing what just asking will do.

The quickest way is to order your credit reports, online for immediate viewing, and you can dispute the information online. They will email you once your info has been updated. It's really neat! Depending on the state in which you live, you may be able to get all 3 bureau reports for free. Just go to www.annualcreditreport.com

Items on credit reports are never erased or removed, they expire with time. Items stay on your report to create a history.
A couple of bad/negative items will not harm you in the long run,
but...avoid letting that turn into a pattern of bad debt, those patterns are what concerns lendors & what really ruins your
credit score.
