Things that damage your testimony or salvation: clubbin, partying, drinking, smoking, premartial sex, cursing, satanic practices, even going as far as to being careful what music you listen to and what movies you watch.

Paul said that, as a believer, all things were allowable...but not all things were expedient. Of course a Christian shouldn't be doing things that are obvious sin...but there are other things that, for msyelf, I take on an "item by item" basis. That may be one way for me, and another way for another person.
For instance....The Phantom of the Opera is playing in Las Vegas. I thought it might be fun to see it. I considered going, and booking a room, etc., and then thought, "should a Christian go to a place that's called "sin city"? So I decided against it.
Am I saying you're a bad Christian if you go to Las Vegas? No! Who am I to judge another brother or sister in the Lord? I am saying, I took this question to God, and that is the answer I got.
Now if another Christian asked me, I would share my own experience. I take "iffy" things before the Lord, and then see what I "hear" in return.
Hope this helps.

I don't believe in drinking, smoking, sexual activity before marriage or with anyone other then my husband, being modest- no tank tops, belly shirts, short shorts, mini skirts, low rise jeans that show the top of underwear- these take away from my own body image and what others think of me, no coffee, tea- herbal is ok, swearing, lying, cheating.. basically anything that doesn't follow the commandments and the restrictions that Christ put on his followers.
I don't participate in activities on sunday like sports, boating, skiing, spending money on sunday. Memebers of my church believe that sunday was meant for worship and not for being out having fun and making others work.
I watch what kind of movies I watch, music I listen to, that sort of thing.

A lot. Drinking, smoking, watching MOST of what's on TV these days, some kinds of dancing, listening to most of what's on the radio, telling dirty jokes, wearing enough makeup to require paint thinner for removal. Oh, and wearing most of the clothes found in stores. You know, the ones with the necks cut down to our belly-buttons, the hemlines somewhere around the bottom of our.....bottoms, and leaving nothing to the imagination at all. Today's world just isn't conducive to a good relationship with God. Now we have to make ourselves conspicuous because there's no way we can possibly blend in with the crowd and still maintain our morals.

As a Christian I would not be comfortable in environments that promote desires of the flesh, gambling, drug usage, alcohol facililties, smoking - these are environments that I sometimes encounter when with guest or friends that have invited us out and I do not shun them due to their nature, as this would make me rude and isolate a friendship that I believe by my behaviors on the inside of the facililty can show more about who I am - I usually find myself not oohing and ahhing flesh, I don't order alcoholic beverages, I don't smoke, I don't gamble - a lot of times I just sit and visit with my husband who has the same convictions that I do and we enjoy our meal and our friends and if in a position to excuse ourselves early as they are into that kind of "hang out", we do so. Otherwise, we usually excuse ourselves to go outside and we enjoy God's nature - the stars, the evening's fresh air, and we remind ourselves next time to drive our own vehicle! We do not condemn our friends and they do not condemn us. When we do the inviting, it is usually to a gospel concert, or something less than as wordly and they go and sometimes, they step outside and wait on us or whisper they will meet us back at the motel - we've learned to accept that in one another without offense. We see them spending less of their money and time at "their hang outs" and actually enjoying more of ours - and we are being ask more questions as our friendship is growing and they are seeing changes in my husband, as the two men are who started out as high school class mates. Had we denied our values from the start then we could not be where we are now.

Christians should either be plowing a field or reading a bible. Preferably, both at the same time.
