Many times, in the United States, you can take classes in food presentation & preparation at community colleges, particularly if there is a fairly strong hospitality industry in the area. Garde manger (specialty salads/platters), pastries, bread making, etc.. go on line and see what your local J.C. offers. It's certainly much cheaper to take a few classes through a community college to see if you even want to continue on this path.
