In a catholic wedding ceremony in the archdiocese of hartford, is it a requirement that the best man or matron of honor need to be catholic

I'm Catholic and I've never heard that the matron of honor or the best man had to be Catholic.

No.

Neither the Catechism of the Catholic Church nor the Code of Canon Law makes mention of the religious affiliation of the marriage's official witnesses, the best man and matron of honor.

I doubt it. But be forewarned, some churches charge upwards of $500 to have a ceremony (in CT)
