i think that's a stupid rule! i'd date the person if i thought they were a good match for me.

these kind of questions are always so easy to answer. just put the shoe on the other foot. if you would freak if your ex dated your best friend, then it's probably a safe bet that it's wrong. however, if you (honestly) wouldn't have a problem with it, go for it. and if she felt the same way, well then problem solved. personally, i don't care who dates my ex. if i did care, i would still be with them. but 'how' you two broke up could also factor in. if it was a nasty break up and i couldn't stand the sight of you, the last thing i would want it to see is you hanging with my bro. it's not that i'm jealous, i just don't want to see your face if i can help it.
p.s. there are also vindictive people out there would go after the ex's best friend just to get back at or be nasty to the one who dumped them. a few girls did this to me when i was younger, i ended up getting into fights with my friends because the girl was constantly feeding bs into my friends head about things i did or didn't say (and sometimes compltely fabricated info too). completely rediculous behavior (springer material).

Are you doing it just becaused she dumped you? You know by dating the best friend, that pretty much ends the relationship between the two girlfriends right. Don't do it.

Because it's in the unwritten rule book!
#126. Never date your ex's best friend
#127. Never date your ex's sister
And so on...

This is silly. Best Friends=Team Up. Why do you want to put yourself in a situation that might chew you up and spit you out? My advice is back away from you're ex and distance yourself from the things that she is connected to...especially those she is in contact with. Save yourself the grief.

If she says bypass for it then bypass for it she dumped him so she obviously does not care that a lot about him. there is not something incorrect with courting a bffs ex see you later as you're trustworthy about it.
