We're flying soon with our toddler son. When we get to Chicago, we need the stroller to push him around in. What do we need to do with it before we get on the plane?

Take it to the gate with you. The Airline staff will "gate check" it for you. This means that you leave it at the door of the plane and it is loaded into cargo. It will be unloaded at the gate when you get to your destination. You will pick it up as you leave the plane, not in baggage claim.

Easy - All you need to do is "gate check" it. That just means you push it all the way to the plane and then leave it right at the plane door. They will load it last and when you get off the plane in chicago, it will be sitting right outside of the door where you left (but a different city.)

:)

They will check it for you at the gate.
They give it back to you as soon as you land at your destination gate.
Its very convenient-- we've done it many times. Just be prepared to unload EVERYTHING when you go through the security checkpoint/X-ray before you get to the gate.
Happy Travels!

It is considered a piece of check luggage and counts towards your checked luggage count. So adjust accordingly

Collapse it down as far as it can go, keep it from springing open and declare it as baggage.

i doubt they will let you take it as hand luggage. You'll have to check it in.
