Bring them on ,whatever hap pend to our optimism ,i cannot remember the last time a big gun gave us a hiding in a qualifier , look at the 2 games against Italy last year we could have taken points there ,and i think we will have improved as a team since then , France have at least 4 or 5 retiring but hopefully Henry ,wilted, Sakha, robbery ,are all, still there because in a french jersey none of these guys frighten me , Ukraine over there might be tough ,but most eastern Europeans they dont travel well and hopefully they have to come to hampden on a Wednesday night , you never know ,Georgia are the same as Ukraine although i would expect to get something over there , Slovenia maybe our problem team as i think they maybe better than our supporters think they are as for the faroes i think we have learned our lesson there , so there you go i make that 21 points who is going to be 2nd

Our best hope is to drag them down to our level and then in a moment of madness produce a piece of brilliant football and grab the winning goal. On second thoughts we could send our players to the Portuguese Diving Academy. Nobody would suspect us of that so we could catch them by surprise. Lastly maybe it is time to do a Jack Charlton and start a worldwide search for anyone with a Scottish Granny. There must be a few around after all we are all over the World spreading the word and a few other things.

Not many rays of hope and I expect that it is going to be another major competition that Scotland will not be entering into the group stages for. Best we can hope for is that Walter will use the next couple of years to introduce a squad of young players to be (hopefully) a force by the next World Cup.

world cup winners/finalists inevitably suffer a dip in form, ( they can only go one way and that's down). We'll do ok against the big guns, i'm more worried about Georgia and Faroes!

Anything can happen on the day. We will need to concentrate on taking as many points as we can at home and hope for some breaks when we are away!

have a bit more faith, laddie! when the games begin, either
EEE-TAL-YAA or VEEV-LA-FRONCE will have a wee gold trophy to show, whereas we have that big shiny bugger we romped to in Japan.... And that's wan mair trophy than the penalty kings doon south!
