I just wanted to know if it was ok to do weights then run/walk or is it just better to walk first then do weights?

Everything I've read has indicated to me that you should do your weight session first. The reason for this is that the weight session generally isn't going to burn through your glucose levels as fast as cardio will. So if you do a thorough cardio workout, your weight workout will probably be at half strength.

In addition, you'll want to be fully-energized doing the weight workout. You can injure yourself if you attempt to lift when you are tired.

I should caution you though that before lifting weights you should be warmed up a bit. Do some light reps with half the weight you usually do. Usually, I do about 10 minutes of VERY easy treadmill walking, just to get a little body heat, then do the warmups for weights before going into my full workout. This has helped prevent injuries.

I also split my workouts. In the morning, I do the weights. In the evening I do running. Not everyone can devote themselves as much as I do, but it allows me to give 100% to both endevours.

Good luck.

I always heard it was better to walk/job/run first as it gets your heart rate going and then you get more out of lifting the weights.

From what i understand, and from what many others have stated me to do, doing cardio/ operating/strolling first is amazing. because you burn the layer(s) of fat, and then artwork with the muscle below and develop it afterwards through doing weights. it really is extra not consumer-friendly, and it takes a lot extra in case you do weights THEN run and jog. in case you run when you do weights, it really is extra tiring, and also you're extra stiff and stressful. base line: Run/jog first. Weights after.
