The best known Dr and leading specialist of this disease is in Charlotte North Carolina he has a study Center and I've known people to be able to get relief after years of pain. Fibro is like a combo master lock everyone has a difference code and key you need to find yours this guy is like the Fibro locksmith I forget his name but you can contact a Dr. Arthur Hall in Winter Park, Florida as he refers a lot of people to him. My mom too. No cure but lots of myths. Read the book Fibromialgya and Me. Also weird therapy by a Dr. she used to see, cough medicine seems to help?

I was diagnosed 6 years ago. The only thing that helps is serious pain medication. That's the reality of the situation. Your mom should find a doctor who understands the condition and will work with her to help alleviate the pain. Have her email me if you want.

I think yoga is the best treatment. I also recommend dance meditation (www.dancemeditation.org) for things like this that cannot be helped by doctors. Take yoga first then start on some kind of movement practice like soul motion, congruuity, connexxion, interplay, biodanza, spiritual bellydance, or something that is available locally that is a movement therapy.

no cure yet, all doctors can really do is treat the symptoms, and unfortunatly people usually end up on lots of medication, treatments vary from patient to patient

my sister has fibromyalgia. She does pilates, and she gets therapeutic massages once a month. She says the pilates really helps her.
